Our client is looking to recruit a Facilities Manager / Supervisor, to work across a multi academy trust of schools, initially on a temporary basis.
The successful applicant will have a good range of skills and experience including a high level of building and grounds maintenance, ideally gained in a similar environment together with exceptional and proven skills and management of a facilities service. This is a busy and varied role so you will need to be flexible and hands-on, practical in your approach, coupled with a good working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
Facilities Manager / Supervisor
Key Tasks during Temporary Contract:
• Responsible for ensuring the required preparations & changes are made to all school sites for September. Ensure that all schools are COVID secure, in line with senior managers plans for each school and national guidance.
• Responsible for managing emergency, reactive and proactive maintenance and repairs.
• Oversight and line management of facility teams within schools – ensuring clear direction and monitoring of work. In smaller schools, with no on-site site staff, provide practical, hands on support to make the necessary adjustments and maintenance of the site
• Audit of all school sites prior to September, to ensure that buildings are ready for pupils to return safely in September, reporting any concerns immediately to Heads/CEO.
• Monitoring of a building project at a Trust School. Provide a link between contractors and the Trust during the building project, monitoring and reporting to CEO/Head on progress and flagging any concerns.
• Provide advice and guidance on health and safety matters, including support in production of individual and whole schools risk assessments, working alongside the Trust Central Team and Heads.

• Related qualifications (IOSH qualification (or equivalent) essential)
• Experience of working in a reactive maintenance service environment
• High level of skills and experience in building maintenance
• Ability to manage a team of staff in an effective and professional manner, in line with school policies
• Possess good working knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance
• Experience in the safe use of typical powered, hand and bench tools
• Flexibility in planning site visits to partner schools and prioritising works according
• To hold a clean driving license and be prepared to travel to schools in Trust.
