Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location:Bellshill
Rate:£35K to £40K Per Year    Benefits: depending on experience
Description: My client, a highly successful FMCG business bases in the Bellshill area, is looking to recruit a Commercial Manager reporting directly to the Managing Director.

This is a critical role within the business, responsible for 2 members of staff and will oversee areas of company performance affecting sales, costs, customer and strategy.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Input into the overall Business Strategy by defining and agreeing the commercial strategic growth strategy for the business that identifies new business opportunities using consumer insights and market trends and ensure that these strategies have been converted into appropriate commercial plans that are clearly understood and across the business
* Manage a small team, assessing any performance improvement requirements, as well as all ER related issues
* Develop and agree the commercial targets for the business
* Work with suppliers and external bodies to ensure that commercial plans and strategy are updated to include current and evolving consumer and market trends
* Establish strong customer relationships at the appropriate level. Have regular contact with the customers and address their needs.
* Proactively and accurately assess threats and opportunities to the business.
* Play an active role in the delivery of the joint business plan to drive sales
* Responsible for managing the customer interface for the business and ensuring that the agreed joint business plans, commercial strategy and targets are delivered through this customer
* Drives and co-ordinates the activities of Commercial, NPD and Finance
* Manage effective communication internally and externally to ensure all parties and informed of relevant issues.
* Sales forecasting & budgeting – write, own and deliver sales forecasts and budgets linked to commercial / business / strategy

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

* Proven, recent experience in managing national retailers & national accounts is essential
* Previous experience in a similar role i.e. Commercial Manager, Business Development Manager
* Previous experience in FMCG
* Highly motivated and driven, has a passion for excellence and can motivate others
* Commitment to the business goals
* Strategic/commercial thinker, able to see the bigger picture
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* IT literate
