Description: Building Surveyor - Part Time

Kingsdale Group manages property on behalf of private residential leaseholders. Our aim is that every development we manage is attractively presented, well maintained and staffed by friendly, helpful and efficient people. We manage some 2,300 properties on over 50 developments throughout England, of which over 1,600 properties are managed on behalf of retired home-owners. The majority of developments are newly built, with most being built within the last 15 years.

What will this role of Building Surveyor entail?

Reporting to the Technical Director, as a Building Surveyor you'll be field based, working part time across London, Greater London and the South East, taking responsibility for building maintenance and facilities management on developments we manage within the region.

You'll prepare specifications, tenders and contracts for all planned and responsive repairs, including responses to emergencies. You'll also perform safety inspections of communal areas, and ensure any remedial works are actioned.

Given that a large part of our portfolio consists of retirement developments, you'll assist the Technical Director in the letting and supervision of service contracts for equipment such as lifts, fire alarms, communal lighting systems etc.

What will I need to be considered for this Building Surveyor role?

* Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, commissioning or supervising maintenance work
* Detailed knowledge of building construction, diagnosing faults, providing solutions
* Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical related equipment, service contracts for lifts, fire alarms, warden calls etc
* Well organised, IT literate, self-motivated and with a good knowledge of H&S legislation
* Full UK Driving Licence with access to own transport

What will I receive in return?

As a Building Surveyor, you'll receive a salary of £36,000 to £40,000 (pro rata) , level dependent on experience. You'll also receive a non-contributory pension scheme and car mileage allowance.

Contract: Permanent, working 3 days per week within Monday to Friday, on average 12 to 15 days per month .

As this role is part time, we appreciate that you may have other commitments, perhaps even another part time role, in which case we are happy to discuss working hours that fit with your availability.
