An excellent opportunity now exists for a Transport First Line Manager to join the operation at their Bardon site based in Coalville.

Transport First Line Manager - Role Overview

The job holder will be the first point of contact for customers and their requirements on a daily basis. You will be responsible for establishing key relationships to ensure efficient leadership, developing and building efficient routes whilst maximising vehicle capacity, and ensuring all work is distributed whilst complying with Transport Legislation and Health & Safety.

Transport First Line Manager - Role Requirements

* Manage people performance for sickness, absence and time keeping
* Manage driver standards and behaviour through telematics technology and manage all transport assets
* Source local agency drivers and sub-contractors as and when required
* Liaising with team to stay fully aware of any delays and possible issues with delivery, and feeding this back to the customer if required
* Develop back haul lanes and day work with both BDL depots and 3 rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilisation
* Coordinate a late load report efficiently and a in timely manner
* Ensure adequate Pre-Briefing and De-Briefing of Drivers
* Planning resources in line with budget and proposing initiatives that will support cost reductions
* Conduct regular meetings/reviews including probation assessments and return to work interviews with drivers
* Fully understand and communicate agreed KPI's for Department
* Record trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers
* Compile and analyse operational and financial performance data to identify service efficiencies and improvement around, MPG, Tachos, fuel and damage
* Ensures that all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to, including H&S induction and training, operating procedures, near miss reporting and emergency procedures
