Job Title: Geo-Environmental Engineer / Coordinator

Description: Geo-Environmental Engineer / Coordinator

Adlington is a multi-award-winning developer of specialist high quality retirement accommodation comprising of multi-storey, privately owned apartments. Adlington is part of the respected Gladman Group with over 30 years of development experience.

You'll be joining a close-knit team of engineers that work within the company's multi-discipline environment of Land Buyers, Architects, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, Purchasers, Project Managers and Construction teams all within the same office. Your role will primarily be focused on site remediation of the award-winning Adlington Retirement Living developments, which will provide opportunities to excite and challenge you. From supporting the due diligence when purchasing land, through to building the projects on site, working at Gladman will enable you to broaden your development. Your day-to-day duties will include;

* Managing and coordinating the remediation of new land acquisitions in readiness for Adlington's new build developments
* Assessing sites to establish enabling / remediation works requirements prior to development
* Assisting 'in-house' land buyers and project managers with technical advice on associated enabling / remediation works
* Acting upon guidance of external consultants to remediate newly acquired Adlington sites.
* Responding to site queries, visiting sites and witnessing investigation / enabling works activities, as required
* Undertaking technical reviews of information provided by external consultants
* Planning site enabling works and developing site strategies to meet business milestones
* Providing technical advice to 'in house' cost managers to establish project costs
* Working with the development design team to ensure clarity of information during the transition from enabling to construction works
* Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team to enhance their career path
* Complying with designer's duties under the CDM Regulations

What will I need to be considered for this Geo-Environmental Engineer / Coordinator role?

* A minimum BEng (Hons) / BSc (Hons) in Geology, Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification, accompanied by a minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience in remediation and contaminated land.
* Member of the Geological Society or Institution of Civil Engineers
* Comprehensive knowledge of site remediation techniques
* Good communication skills and experience of collaborative working
* Ability to plan and manage work in a pro-active manner
* Working knowledge of relevant UK and European codes of practice
* IT literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Full UK driving licence

Your starting salary will be in the region of £50,000 to £60,000, level dependent on experience and qualifications. You'll be working from prestigious offices in Congleton, Cheshire - which are conveniently located within easy reach of the M6 and M56 but site visits will be required to meet business needs. Employed on a permanent, full time contract, you will have the option of compressed hours over a 9-day fortnight, with flexible start and finish times around the core hours.
