What will this role of Health and Safety Officer entail?

Supporting the Health and Safety Manager, as a Health and Safety Officer you will drive forward effective health and safety processes and systems across the business in an ever-changing environment. Your duties will include although not be limited to:

* Providing risk assessment support to all departments, including fire safety
* Investigating and recording of designated incidents and producing investigative reports
* Assessing the suitability and safety performance of contractors
* Processing personal injury and vehicle incident insurance claims
* Supporting designated projects and events with safety advice
* Assisting with design and delivery of health and safety training
* Helping administer first aid during busy periods
* Supporting the maintenance of the Health and Safety IT system (SharePoint)

What will I need to be considered for this Health and Safety Officer vacancy?

* Previous experience working in a health and safety role supporting a range of managers and colleagues, along with a National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to use own initiative and work well as part of a team
* IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Flexibility and adaptability to prioritise and respond to changing demands using effective decision-making skills
* Superb organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
* An understanding of confidentiality issues

Although not essential, the following would be desirable for the role:

* Proven experience of implementing fire safety requirements
* Providing emergency first aid care to adults and children, or a willingness to learn
* Assessing health and safety risk assessments

What will I receive in return?

Salary: £28,000
