Job Title: Utilities Consultant (Construction)
Location:Congleton, Cheshire, England
Rate:£30K.0000 to £45K. Per Year
Description: Significant growth plans have led to a superb opportunity for an experienced Utilities Consultant to join the 'Adlington' brand of award winning extra care retirement apartments, part of the Gladman Group.

Your thorough understanding of utility connection regulations and processes and your ability to work within a project team from design through to installation on site, will enable you to support the ambitious development programme that involves the construction of multi million pound projects within the Gladman Retirement Living portfolio.

Who will I be working with?

Part of the respected Gladman Group, Adlington is a multi-award-winning developer of specialist high quality retirement accommodation comprising of multi-storey one, two and three bedroom privately owned apartments.

So, what will this role as a Utilities Consultant entail?

You will;

* Assess potential new sites and provide the Land Team with guidance with regards to existing services and capacity availability and highlight any risks or concerns
* Provide the Design Teams with advice with regards to proposed layouts and service routes
* Make applications for diversions if required for any gas, water, electric or telecoms plant within the site/adjacent to the site boundary and co-ordinate the works on site
* Manage and co-ordinate the disconnections and meter removals for new sites
* Procure quotations for new electric, water and telecoms connections and negotiate best commercial package to meet the Gladman programme, and requirements for the whole project including temporary supplies
* Work with the M&E Design Manager to allow for any renewable generation connections or electric vehicle charging points within the incoming electric design
* Manage the installation programme on site with close liaison with the site managers and construction teams
* Provide updates to the Project Management team with regards to progress on site
* Procure and arrange electricity supply contracts for the supplies on site and co-ordinate the meter installation in line with the construction programme
* Ensure that all as laid plans are provided for CDM manuals
* Manage the costs for disconnections and new installations in line with project budget figures

What will I need to be considered?

* Proven utilities management experience with a developer, housebuilder or contractor
* In depth understanding of the utilities sector and energy supply market
* Technical knowledge of construction with the ability to liaise with design, technical, purchasing and sub-contractors to seek resolution to issues
* Ability to manage several projects at one time
* High level of attention to detail
* Self-motivated and trustworthy
* Good level of IT literacy
* Full UK driving licence

What will I receive in return?

Salary: £30,000 to £45,000, level dependent on experience.

Hours of work: Full time working compressed hours over a 9 day fortnight, with flexible start and finish times around the core hours.

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Congleton (Cheshire). Due to the nature of the role you must be able to travel to sites across the UK, predominantly North West and Yorkshire currently.
