Description: This is a very exciting time to join Barking and Dagenham Council – they have just been named LGCs Council of the Year for 2018 and have achieved Silver Investors in People accreditation.

• We’re looking for an experienced Social Worker to be a part of our Assessment Team, which provides services to children and their families to safeguard and promote their welfare.
• As a member of the team, your role will be to undertake high-quality, timely assessments and to liaise with key professionals, within and outside the council to ensure services are provided efficiently and effectively.
• You’ll manage challenging cases, planning intervention, and support. Your role will ensure children’s voices are always heard and recorded consistently.
• You will be responsible for developing and improving standards and quality, helping us to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children and their families.
Requirements
• a degree or masters in Social Work (or any other recognised equivalent qualification)
• 2+ years’ experience in Children and Families Social Work.
• HCPC registration
• Be able to commit to working some weekends.
