Who will I be working with?

Arriva TrainCare (ATC) is an independent rolling stock maintenance and refurbishment business based in Crewe, with depots across 5 locations in the UK. What will this role of HSEQ Compliance Officer entail?

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will use your knowledge, experience and communication skills to successfully monitor and manage the audit process both internally and externally. You will be an active contributor in continuously improving product quality and business functionality as well as supporting all HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) functions as required. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

* Coordinating and conducting operational and supplier audits across the UK to ensure that the organisation, its customers and other recognised standards are being complied with
* Following up on audits to ensure that recommendations that have been agreed have been implemented
* Analysing audit outputs to identify issues and make recommendations for improvement
* Working with business managers to determine a risk-based approach to directing the audits
* Supporting departments and business functions to prepare for and respond to audits
* Completing department internal audits on a regular basis

What will I need to be considered for this HSEQ Compliance Officer vacancy?

* Proven experience of managing audits undertaken by external bodies, including preparation, ideally within a similar engineering industry environment
* Auditor qualified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (previously OHSAS 18001)
* Excellent knowledge of relevant HSEQ legislation, best practice and guidance
* Strong and effective written skills, with the ability to prepare reports and deliver presentations
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong verbal communication and engagement skills
* A self-motivated, adaptive and resilient approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure
* A full and valid driving licence and willingness to travel as required

Although not essential, a good understanding and knowledge of the rail industry, and a qualification in / detailed experience of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 would be highly advantageous.

What will I receive in return?

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Location: Crewe (Cheshire) with national travel to all ATC sites
