I’m seeking a Production Engineer to join a growing and ambitious SME that develop advanced electro-mechanical products for harsh environments.

Reporting in to the Operations Director this is a new role to support the ongoing growth of the organisation. We are seeking an accomplished production engineer to assist the company in its next stage of development. Ideally you will be from a manufacturing background with experience of electrical / electronic systems

Key Responsibilities:

* Input to design reviews and phase reviews to ensure engineering have considered the needs of production suitably early in the development process.
* Facilitating Design for Test and Design for Manufacture.
* Facilitating production planning including pilot and pre-production runs.
* Shop floor Work Instructions.
* Ensuring the Production area is ready, and tooling and test jigs, fixtures and facilities are in place as required.
* Continuous improvement from the Production perspective (refine and optimise processes etc.).
* Production cost reduction.
* Support to Quality
* New Product Introduction
* Writing and maintaining production build and quality plans.
* Maintaining technical construction files which contain all the relevant production information.
* Analyse technical problems in production and call upon the required resource to provide solutions.
* Developing strategies to maintain low-cost manufacture whilst always ensuring quality.
* Training production workers on new products and new manufacturing techniques.
* Raising and processing engineering change requests

Skills and experience required:

* Knowledge of modern manufacturing approaches (injection moulding, die casting, sheet metal fabrication)
* A working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
* Experience of the engineering change process.
* Ability to provide cutting edge engineering solutions to solve technical challenges
* Ability to produce written manufacturing documentation from complex designs at a level which is suitable for production operatives to follow.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a team environment
* Microsoft Office suite , Outlook, Word, Excel
* Working knowledge of Solidworks is an advantage but not essential
