A manufacturer of category leading foods is seeking a Technical Manager to ensure products manufactured on site conform to customer specifications, food safety standards and compliance.

The Technical Manager appointed will take on a diverse range of responsibilities associated with managing the technical function of a small but expanding food production site. The role will involve reviewing all technical documentation and making improvements where necessary, establishing technical competency and implementing robust technical systems.

The Technical Manager will report to the Manufacturing Director and will be responsible for ensuring technical procedures and processes are optimised and technical documentation and checks meet regulatory compliance. Other duties will include managing Food Safety, the Quality Management System, HACCP and Audits.

To succeed in this role the appointed Technical Manager will demonstrate a high level of communication skills as they will be in regular contacts with company directors, heads of department and other stakeholders. The Technical Manager appointed will need to apply a hands-on approach and apply a `start-up` mentality. With a constant presence on the factory floor, the jobholder will communicate food safety and compliance issues to staff and quickly and effectively investigate non-conformance and implement corrective actions.
