Job Title: Forge Worker
Rate:£11,320 to £12,040 Per Year    Benefits: shift rates
Description: Our client is looking to recruit a temp to perm industrial worker who will work Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm on a weekly Rota

* To support the site in pursuing business objectives
* To assist with the identification, development and implementation of operational improvements
* To ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved.
* To ensure that quality, cost and delivery are continually improved.
* To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
* To be flexible and adaptable within work area.
* Idealy hold a current FTL Licence


To assist in the forging of parts as per the method of manufacture and the forge instruction sheet.


To input new programmes and modify existing programmes on computer controls.

To organise die and tool storage and heating of dies in readiness for production.

To undertake fettling, painting of billets and shotblasting duties

To carry out repairs to dies and tools during production.

To ensure customer specifications are achieved e.g. check dimensions against process sheets, blueprints or sketches

To undertake forge inspection

To stamp and record heat code, serial numbers or other required numbers

To carry out the cleaning of the pits and painting work areas as required

To assist the maintenance function with tasks as required during short periods of downtime.

* To carry out housekeeping audits across the unit if required
* To use the appropriate personal protective equipment
* To assist with undertaking risk assessments and re-assessments
* To undertake weekly inspections as required
* To monitor and assist with the implementation of safe systems of work
* To comply with legislative requirements
* To undertake daily forklift truck and crane checks

To develop efficient working processes and seek ways to continuously improve all aspects of your own job.

To work to established process methods, reporting any deviations and correcting these as necessary.

To apply fault finding and problem solving skills relating to manufacture and equipment failure to continually improve processes.

To participate in continuous improvement activities such as Lean manufacturing techniques, T.P.M, Asset Care, and 5’s etc

To work to achieve the performance measures identified within the team.

To assisting in aiding two-way communications.

To identify own training needs with your team leader and assist with training others if competent and designated as a trainer.

To undertake additional training within capability and work area as with current practice in line with the company needs.

To train individuals in accordance with the training procedures.

To assist with the upkeep of team boards and the completion of administration as required.
