Spire St Anthony's Hospital was originally founded in 1904 and has been under Spire ownership since 2014, during which time the hospital has received significant investment in its facilities, including a brand-new state of the art £30m operating theatre complex. The hospital is benefiting from ongoing, exciting developments and improvements across multiple departments.

So, what does the role of Pre-Assessment Team Leader entail?

Reporting to the OPD Manager, as the Pre-Assessment Team Leader you will first and foremost provide exemplary planned care for patients, whilst effectively managing a team. You'll be constantly involved in the development and improvement of practices, which could be your own, your colleagues, or even the service provided. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

* Developing individual plans of care that take into consideration the care pathway, risk and wellbeing
* Acting as a role model in quality improvement, offering advice and support to colleagues
* Developing practice in the assessment of health and wellbeing needs by comparing current practices, trends and developments against appropriate benchmarks
* Regularly assessing risks to health, safety and security and using the results to develop a working environment and culture that improves practice
* Leading the development of effective information and support for service improvement

What do I need in order to be considered for this Pre-Assessment Team Leader role?

* Proven experience working as a Registered Nurse with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council registration in and across multi-disciplinary teams, particularly in a pre-assessment team
* Competency across a range of nursing skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge, including infection control and health and safety
* Proven experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
* Evidence of challenging consultants to influence evidence-based practice
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and using own initiative
* IT literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
* Flexible approach to work and working patterns

Although not essential, a post registered qualification in an appropriate clinical specialism, specific pre-assessment training or evidence of working towards a clinical degree would be highly advantageous.

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000, level depending on experience

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, working 5 shifts a week, which may include Saturday work, in which case time off in lieu will be given.

Location: Sutton (Surrey, South London). Close to the A3 and the M25 motorway, with excellent road and public transport services.
