This waterside restaurant is part of a larger Hampshire based hospitality Group which comprises some of Hampshire's finest restaurants, bars and boutique hotels which are born from a unique and prestigious heritage of the leading independent leisure group in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, each having an enviable reputation for fine food and drink served in superb surroundings with each restaurant and bar having its own unique concept.
All of the company's restaurants are situated on the waterfront hence their tagline 'meet, drink & eat by the water'.
The Company takes great pride in the quality of the local fresh food they serve, the diversity of their menu and the attentive, passionate and friendly staff they employ. Their customers expect a great experience every time they visit one of our their Restaurant and Bars and together as a team it's their job to ensure that the customer's expectations are met and hopefully exceeded every time they visit.
Within one of their bar and restaurants situated close to the water on the South Coast, near to Southampton they are seeking a Sous Chef. The position is permanent.


Key Features of the Role:
All of the restaurant's food will be prepared on site using the best ingredients, local where possible using carefully sourced suppliers.
The Company seeking an ambitious and committed Sous Chef with a passion for good food who is ready to continue developing their career in a growing hospitality group.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills and the ability to thrive is a very busy bar and restaurant where their reputation for consistently preparing cooking and presenting our dishes to the right quality is second to none.
You will assist and deputise for the Head Chef and assist them in developing the best team.
Everything is prepared in house using fresh ingredients using local suppliers wherever possible.
As Sous Chef you will set the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
This is a very busy working environment, and as well as having high standards and demonstrating good attention to detail, you'll be part of a team who helps influence effective kitchen controls to achieve good gross profit, efficient ordering and stock control as well as driving excellent standards of health and hygiene.
You will need to thrive in a very busy environment and enjoy working as part of a team.


Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Head Chef or Sous Chef ideally with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level or a Senior CDP / Junior Sous Chef looking to move up to the next level.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
You should have a passion for producing the perfect dish every time.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential.
You should have worked in a busy kitchen and thrive under pressure.
You must have experience and desire to work with fresh, quality food.
You should possess ambition to continually drive the business forward.
You will be an excellent team player and leader who can respectfully communicate to the team.
You will have a track record of working with and developing strong teams.
You will have good financial understanding and have a track record of controlling costs and stocks.
You will have good knowledge of hygiene and health and safety.
You should possess a lot of stamina/energy to keep up to speed during occasional hectic spells of business.
You should have a desire to aim for high standards.
You should be reliable, hardworking, trustworthy and passionate in your work.
Standard working week is normally 48 hours, 5 days on, 2 days off. Flexible shift patterns.
Because of the location of the restaurant public transport links are limited and therefore you will need your own transport.


What's on Offer?
Basic salary will be around £9.50 - 10.50 per hour.
You will receive tips paid on a weekly basis.
