Job Title: Software Developer - Marine / Naval Applications
Rate:£40K to £50K Per Year
Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Software Developer to join a world leading company specialising in engineering software. You will be developing software for hydrodynamic analysis of marine and offshore structures based on 3D diffraction/radiation and rigid body dynamics.

Within this role you will:

* Write software code using C++, C#, or Fortran programming languages, and apply it to the AQWA program.
* Perform moderately complex product design, systems analysis and programming activities which may require some research.
* Perform design, implementation and maintenance of single product modules/sub-systems or on lower level issues of multiple products.
* Prepare technical documentation of product sub-systems.
* Conduct unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
* Perform moderately complex defect investigation and resolution, release testing, and unreleased software support for assigned products.
* Research problems discovered by product testing or product support and develop solutions.
* Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.

Ideally, you will have:

* An engineering, technical or scientific degree or the equivalent level of knowledge and skill through on the job experience and training.
* Relevant experience in three complete life cycles of a complex development project, or equivalent work experience on an extended research project eg an MSc or PhD.
* Good technical knowledge of relevant engineering simulation and software, software development methodologies, design and implementation.
* Good skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.
