Purpose of Position My Client is recruiting a Project Manager to work within the SV Programme (vehicle TBC). The Project Manager will report to a Senior Programme Manager responsible for the support and delivery of both Prototype and Full Rate Production vehicles.


• Working within the Programme Management function supporting the effective delivery to performance, cost and schedule.

• Prepare and implement project risk assessed work schedules and plans, liaising with specialist areas across the matrixed organisation (Engineering, Manufacture, Supply Chain, Commercial and Finance).

• Liaise with other Project Managers to ensure a consistent and conflict managed Programme level approach.

• Provide exception reporting to the Senior Programme Manager as necessary.

• Manage project team to resolve matters relating to costs, work schedules, commercial and technical issues.

• Report progress of project status and performance to senior management on each item listed below but not limited to;

o Vehicle Delivery (All aspects) o Schedule Management

o Budget Management

o IPT Management

o Operations Management o Sub Contract Management

o Change Management

o Vehicle Configuration Management

• Become a point of knowledge on all aspects of the contract deliverables.

• Support the development and maintenance of the programme governance process and monthly reporting cycle.

• Organise and track customer and supplier engagement meetings and periodic meetings and reviews.

• Ensure that project resource demands are articulated in accordance with the Company’s Resource Management process.

• Ensure that the project is managed in accordance with the Company’s defined project execution and lifecycle governance processes.

• Support the development of management support tools such as tracking spreadsheets, project milestone views, action logs.

Education/Experience Experience – Essential

• Considerable experience in a complex project environment.

• Proven ability of time scheduling and phasing on complex projects.

• Proven practical application of risk management.

• Demonstrable knowledge of financial management techniques.

• Confident approach to work content scope management.

• Experience in applying earned value management techniques.

• Proven ability to communicate using a variety of techniques, accurately and in a timely manner.

• Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project.

Experience – Desirable

• Knowledge of UK Ministry of Defence Acquisition Operating Framework.

• Practical experience in the design or manufacture of Armoured Fighting Vehicles.

• Manufacturing / Production Engineering Management Experience

• Knowledge of the Systems Engineering V Model.

• Lean Six Sigma and Supplier Development

Qualifications / Personal Development

• University Degree or equivalent experience.

• Programme Management

• Association of Project Managers Professional Qualification (APMP), Prince 2 or equivalent

• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

• Product Support Experience

• Solid Management experience

• Process Management
