A new role has been created for an HR Advisor to join a leading engineering business near Reading. This is a really exciting opportunity which will to take you to the next step in your HR career.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Advisor will be the first point of contact for employees and managers in terms of advising on policy and procedures. They will run disciplinary and grievance hearings and take notes at consultations, and run recruitment. In addition this person will help choose, implement and develop an HR system, will arrange induction training and take responsibility for on-boarding and leavers. This is a full generalist role and the HR Advisor will assist the HR Manager with TUPE / company acquisitions and a wide range of HR projects including management development and performance management.

You will have gained solid experience in an HR Admin and Advisor role and have the confidence and influencing skills to liaise with, and advise managers and senior stakeholders. You must have gained experience of disciplinary and grievance issues and be able to work with HR systems. In addition a proactive and positive approach is desired together with a professional and flexible attitude. There may be the need to travel to other sites occasionally.
Ideally candidates will have come from a blue chip, commercial background however, having previous/current experience of working within a blue collar organisation would also be highly beneficial.


This role represents a fantastic opportunity to further your HR career in a fully supported role, by gaining wide exposure to HR projects and you will take a good level of responsibility for HR matters across the business. Although you will ideally be CIPD qualified or studying, if you have the desire to study, support can be provided. This is a growing organisation and a leader in their field.
