My GLOBALLY RECOGNISED retail client is looking for enterprise level Active Directory Lead. You will be working in a specialised infrastructure team of four people. The overall IT department is 1300+ heads so this is a huge enterprise (100,000+ employee) environment and boasts a very stimulating technical stack. Your will be the Active Directory lead for the organisation and be responsible for the all things AD related for the users, groups, servers and group policies.

Due to the scale of this organisation the successful candidate will be likely have experience in working within another enterprise sized organisation. It is NOT essential that you have worked in the retail space.

You will be delivering Active Directory for a range of projects and BAU operations. You will be working with multiple teams and stakeholders along with partnering with the architecture team.

The environment:

* 10,000+ servers in our clients’ own Data Centres, Windows, Linux, UNIX
* Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, GCP; Building new architecture here

Experience of the following technologies will be utilised in the role:

* Active Directory on Windows Server 2008 and 2016
* VMWare
* Domain and Forest upgrades
* Group Policy administration
* ADFS/SSO, preferably Ping
* Backup and Recovery
* PKI infrastructure
* Windows Server 2008 and 2012 systems administration and support
* Windows Server 2016 systems administration and support
* DNS, DHCP, WINS and DFS
* VBScript/PowerShell for Windows & Power CLI
* Disaster Recovery testing
* Identity and Access Management, preferably Oracle OIM
* Monitoring best practices, preferably with BMC Truesight

Duties:

* 3rd line support, production and development environments
* BAU maintenance
* Application project support
* Design and build of AD Architecture
* Develop and document standards, processes and procedures
* Understanding of server performance tuning and optimization
* Train, mentor and support team members

Projects:

* Upgrades Windows 2008 R2 - 2008 in production. Windows 2016 Server upgrade
* Ping - Identity is important
* General clean up
* Building new Forests
* Replacing the testing domain
* Access management / security projects
* Joiners, movers, leavers automation project
* AD - monitoring the environment.

The department is moving into a more automation and DevOps direction incorporating tools such as:

* Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
* Puppet & Ansible
* PowerShell for Scripting and automation
