Job Title: Graduate Finance Assistant

A vacancy has arisen for a Graduate Finance Assistant within a food trading business in Thornbury. The role is to provide support to the Finance Team to ensure the Management accounts are completed timely as well as supporting the Finance Manager to ensure smooth running of the tasks as described below.

Responsibilities Include:

* Support the Finance and Management function with all the month end processes and ensure deadlines are met so that the accounts can be distributed timely. Tasks include maintaining the Prepayments and Fixed Asset Register as well as completing Inter Company Reconciliations.
* Process all monthly journals as instructed to allocate spend correctly, accrue/prepay costs into the correct month
* Complete the expenses process fully from start to finish, ensure authorisation has been given for all claims and receipts are provided for all items to ensure spend is correctly allocated in the accounts.
* Complete bank reconciliations on a daily basis for all accounts (GBP, Trust, EUR, USD).
* Complete the petty cash process fully, ensure all receipts are provided for all items funded from petty cash. Ensure all spend is correctly allocated in the accounts.
* Produce analysis of sales and costs weekly/monthly as required to support the month end accounts, and to feed into the management dashboards and reporting
* Complete daily invoicing requirements for outstanding sales orders
* Management of office maintenance contracts (e.g. air con, fire, security, etc.)
* Deal with daily incoming and outgoing post, ensuring incoming post is distributed across the business, and outgoing post is franked and taken to local post depot
* Maintain the Company’s office supplies (e.g. stationery, employee refreshments, ordering furniture / equipment)
* Process card payments for customers over the phone using Sage Pay, as instructed by the AP & AR Team Leader
* Document all finance procedures to ensure processes can be covered adequately
* To assist and support the senior management team in the delivery of their respective plans, as reasonably requested by them
* Provide a proactive and enthusiastic contribution to all aspects of the Company’s day to day functioning

The Ideal Candidate:

* Intermediate – Advanced Excel skills
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills with an ability to plan and prioritise.
* Ability to converse with internal and external stakeholders (Good communication skills and tactful nature when dealing with a variety of different people and personalities).
* Good flexible approach with attention to detail
* Self-motivated who can work well under pressure
* Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written
* Studying towards ACCA/CIMA qualification or similar (training support will be provided)
