Job Title: Senior Quality Inspector - Aerospace
Location:Romford
Rate:£35K to £40K Per Year    Benefits: Excellent Benefits
Description: Senior Quality Inspector – Aerospace Industry – Salary c35,000 - 40,000 DOE + Benefits

Based: Essex

Our client is a leading supplier to the Aerospace Industry who specialise in manufacturing, trading and distributing components and assemblies used on land, at sea and in the air. We are looking for an experienced Lead Quality Inspector who will be responsible for ensuring products conform to design data and customer and AS9100 requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Verify conformity of parts, assemblies, subassemblies in line with engineering drawings, the quality management system and any customer specific requirements
* Responsible for comprehensive completion and auditable traceability of inspection records
* Support Production with timely verification of batch first off/introduction of Approved Operator Processes
* Create and compile First Article Inspection reports to customer and current AS9102
* Identify and report Non-Conformances as per Company procedure supporting root cause analysis, problem solving, containment and corrective action
* Participate in Product Introduction planning meetings and advise on inspection methodology
* Support continuous improvement activities as required
* Update, maintain all metrics and KPI boards daily, maximise efficiency/ team performance
* Provide department representation in daily Production meetings, communicating down
* Maintain all area 6S requirements ensuring that the business targets are maintained
* Liaise with other internal departments e.g. production control, engineering etc.
* In the event of machinery and equipment failures, adequately support any actions to restore production quickly
* Responsible for conducting and maintaining all risk assessments within the cell

Candidate Essential Skills and Experience:

* Knowledge within the Aerospace industry is essential and the sanctioning of products

* Ability to interpret technical data, including blue prints, drawings, specifications, FAIR’s

* Familiar with Goods inward inspection of finished products / components and experience in dealing with external customers and suppliers

* Experience of setting and using a wide variety of direct inspection gauges (CMM)

* Working knowledge and understanding of 6S principles and objectives

* Experience of Javelin or other ERP/MRP systems preferred but not essential

* Knowledge of Q-Pulse (QMS data base) desirable, Measurement System Analysis (MSA) awareness desirable

* Setting and programming experience would be beneficial

* Good general education, preferably time served engineering apprenticeship/ ONC/HNC in Engineering or equivalent
