Our Client one of the UK's largest independent food manufactures, they have an exciting opportunity for a Production Shift Manager to join their team, with the position offering a rewarding salary of up to £40,000. This role will report into the Operations Manager for the business and will have a number of direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for ensuring that the production requirements are met in a sustainable manner by facilitating growth and development of the people on the shift to be a self-managing team in line with the site's longer term growth and development strategies and big plans
* Accountable for managing the shift team, operating the factory in delivering the production plan to agreed product specification and performance targets in compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, Food Safety requirements, Legislative requirements and company policies and procedures.
* Accountable for the organization, leadership and control of all activities within the factory on a daily basis ensuring highest quality products are produced at lowest possible cost, on time, safely and by a demonstrably competent, performance orientated workforce.
* Accountable for Shift Member's understanding of the company's goals and objectives and their role in achieving them, co-ordinating the training plan delivery to facilitate this. Responsible for completing KPMS reviews for all operatives and technicians.
* Accountable for the working environment and the maintenance and improvement of the standards at all times meeting with (and exceeding) company requirements.

The Ideal Candidate:

* IOSH Managing Safely or ability to pass the qualification
* HACCP L2 or ability to pass the qualification
* Solid manufacturing management experience in a fast paced environment
* Competent in managing first line people issues such as attendance management, disciplinary procedure and performance and behavioral based appraisals.
* Strong communication skills at all levels
* Ability to make correct decisions in a fast paced, challenging environment
* Experience of reading a daily/weekly plan and manning lines appropriately
* Experience of working in a multi-cultural environments and overcoming language barriers
* IOSH Leading safely certification
* Health and Safety Level 3 / IOSH Leading safely certification
* Food Safety Level 3
* HACCP Level 3
* Food Hygiene Level 4
