Job Title: Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
Rate:£40K to £45K Per Year
Description: A Lead Mechanical Designer with design expertise within new product development is required for a global manufacturer of scientific instrumentation equipment.

Role: Lead Mechanical Designer

As Lead Designer you will be responsible for:

+ To demonstrate understanding and awareness of manufacturing techniques and OINS assembly techniques and processes.

+ Creating robust CAD models that have re-useable parts and assemblies, ensuring that Intralink attributes are completed fully and correctly.

+ Creating drawing to OINS standard format and comply with company Quality standards.

+ To demonstrate a thorough understanding and awareness of the Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system to ensure that parts and Bills of material are added correctly One World.

+ To demonstrate a complete understanding of the Engineering Change Request process to ensure that Engineering Change Requests are actioned appropriately.

+ Agree and review design tasks / milestones with Project Leader/Team Leader as appropriate

+ Understanding of the customers requirements to produce designs to meet those requirements

+ Identify risk areas within these designs.

As Buyer you will have experience of:

+ Educated to Modern Apprenticeship/HNC or qualified by experience

+ Vacuum and pressure vessel knowledge

+ Experience in super conducting magnets, Ultra Low Temperature and Cryogenics would be considered an advantage

+ Competent in the use of 3D CAD - Pro-E Wildfire 4 or CREO

+ Use of Intralink or Windchill CAD data management systems

+ Design for manufacture
