Description: Senior Digital Business Analyst

Responsible for leading reviews, analysis and evaluations of large and / or complex business systems, processes and user needs, whilst formulating system solutions that parallel the overall business strategies. Takes a lead role on projects and change, implementing solutions in compliance with corporate and departmental project management standards through full project management life cycle.

Broking Platform Systems & Insurer Platform Systems
Circa 1000 users of the core software package. Circa 1,500,000 client policies
External: CDL Software providers (Broking Platform)
Internal: All Colleagues from the Group, Retail and Insurer businesses

Key Accountabilities

To assess feasibility of alternative solutions (for both technical and business sustainability).
To translate user requirements into detailed specifications and system designs into detailed design documentation.
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that delivered systems are both technically sustainable and meet the business need.
To develop and deliver to the implementation plans for business process changes.
Publication of high-quality business requirements and functional specifications.
To analyse existing large and complex business processes in order to identify alternative solutions and recommend new approaches.
Document workflows and results of business analysis and obtain sign-off from client on the specifications.
To provide the link between the customer, development team and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the development lifecycle.
Day-to-day management of project or change deliverables in line with either the project plans or block delivery expectations.
Involvement with definition of test cases and performance of system and acceptance testing.
Fault analysis and defect tracking (Post-live support).
Production and presentation of training and user guide documentation
To liaise with the relevant teams to ensure that appropriate change management standards and requirements are achieved in line with project objectives.
To observe, monitor and comply with the Data Protection Act and the IT Security Policy and Procedures in the performance of duties.
Responsible for the effective identification, management and reporting of risk within your area of responsibility.

Essential Skills:
Proficient in writing effective business requirements.
Facilitation of business people to draw out clear, concise, focused and unambiguous requirements.
End to end experience of the project lifecycle
Proven experience interacting directly with end users.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, from technical staff through to board members and similar external contacts.
Experience of contributing to the delivery of projects using structured project management approaches.

Essential knowledge:
Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes.
Demonstrable experience writing requirements specifications for Information Systems.
Working knowledge of core Microsoft Office products.
Working knowledge of structured project management frameworks e.g. PRINCE2 / Agile.

Desirable knowledge:
Knowledge of the IS2000 insurance software package.
Knowledge of the CDL (Cheshire Datasystems Ltd) broker software package. Guidewire
Knowledge of internet and intranet technologies.
Experience of working within a Private Sector organisation.
