Opportunity to join an ever expanding, exciting, global telco service provider who is now in need of a GIS professional who specialises in supporting, configuring and troubleshooting GE Smallworld GIS applications (PNI, NIG, GSA), who is looking for a new and exciting contract as a GIS Specialist within the fibre planning and build department.

We have a requirement for a GIS Specialist and Database Analyst to join a leading international telecoms carrier to take ownership of dealing with support, configuration and administration of the GE Smallworld GIS application used by the business. You will support users and resolve data issues by engaging with relevant IT departments and externally with GE support.

The role holder will:

# Analyse and correct data issues for users to ensure fibre inventory designs moving through the plan, design and build lifecycle.

# Analyse and report issues to GE Smallworld, managing issues through the full lifecycle from implementation, testing and signoff to publication and notification of fixes to the GIS user teams.

# Actively follow up and drive issue resolution whilst maintaining good working relationships with internal and external colleagues / suppliers.

# Carry out technical configuration changes and administration to the GE Smallworld application.

# Carry out project work in relation to mass data correction to ensure designs are accurate.

# Ensure new and COU loading of map and addressing data and production of fibre optic network statistics.

# Drive and manage internal / external resources to ensure issues are fixed and implemented within agreed SLA.

The ideal candidate must possess experience and knowledge of the GE Smallworld application and ideally specific module experience with PNI, NIG and GSA. Any other additional GIS vendor experience is also welcome.

It is highly desirable for candidates to have some knowledge of internal site architecture, fibre network architecture and fibre records management however this experience is not essential.

You must also be analytically minded, have good attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively.
