Having worked in partnership with this organisation for over 12 years, due to continued growth, Hamlin Knight are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join this rapidly expanding rental provider in Coventry.

This is a senior management position reporting to and supporting the Operations Director and working within the Operations Team, to manage quality and 3rd party operated service centre performance as well as the procurement of materials.

This is not a large business, nor heavy with layers of management or central functional overhead. The business is open to change and commercially fast on its feet. It is a rolled-up sleeves environment where you get things done. It operates with both blue-chip customers and smaller producers and has a highly collaborative mindset and is ambitious to continue to grow. This is a role for someone looking for a challenge who can use their skills and experience in a new setting. The person must be self-motivated and bring drive and energy to the business to support continued growth.

As an Operations Manager your key responsibilities will include:
To manage the Quality Assurance Manager
to ensure that documented quality specifications are maintained at manufacturers and service centres
to document and control all Operational processes
to manage customer quality KPI’s and complaints

To manage the team of Quality Managers through the Team Leader
to control, monitor and enforce product and materials quality across the UK & Ireland pool to ensure that the documented specifications for manufacture and service centre operation are adhered to
to investigate all complaints and other queries at customers to ensure that they are resolved, reported and required corrective action taken, quickly and satisfactorily according to guidelines.

To manage the team of Service centre coordinators through the Team Leader
to manage numerous service centres operated by 3rd parties to ensure that they are delivering the quality and service required
to maintain product throughputs and monitor and forecast stock levels to ensure customer supply and maximise group utilisation in the most efficient way
to procure materials in the most cost effective way and efficient way

To be successful within this role the candidate must have good communications skills, both written and verbal, and confidence in preparing and delivering presentations. You will be persuasive with strong negotiation skills. Working with initiative and enterprise the role needs the ability to assimilate operational and financial data to assess and form propositions. Good organisational and time-management skills are a pre-requisite. You will quickly show the ability to understand our operational levers.

The office base is West Midlands and the job involves national travel to visit suppliers and on occasion, customers when necessary. A full driving licence is required.
