Job Title: HR Assistant - Maternity Cover ( 9-14 Months)
Rate:£24K Per Year
Description: We are currently recruiting for a contract HR assistant to cover maternity leave on a 9 – 14 month contract on behalf of a nationwide engineering company. To work as part of the HR team providing a first class professional HR service, meeting the needs of the business and changing focus in-line with, and according to, developing business requirements.
General HR duties with focus on recruitment activities plus project work for the HR function covering 400+ employees across 12 UK offices with other sites outside the UK.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Jointly responsible for recruitment activities including
• Process monthly payroll, liaising with Pay Check Plus, producing reports and dealing with queries accordingly.
• Responsible for administration of benefits and Partners Annual Health Checks with BMI.
• Responsible for the annual Employee Survey using survey monkey including data analysis, reporting and presentation of results.
• Provide support to Head of HR as and when required.
• Responsible for obtaining DBS checks for employees as required.
• Responsible for maintaining record of professional subscriptions, approving annual renewals and updating systems. This includes corporate memberships.
• Provision of monthly HR MI reports as required.
• Responsible for general HR activities
• Process documentation for; new starters, salary increases, promotions, changes to personal details and leavers in accordance with HR procedures.
• Provide HR data/stats for PQQ submissions as required.
• Prepare for Company audits involving HR input, eg Quality and Rail Link-Up.
• Assist with administration of Best Companies survey as required including data analysis of results.
• Assist with provision of advice and guidance to managers on HR issues in-line with Company policy and practices.
• Read employment law updates to keep abreast of changes affecting HR.
• Fostering sound working relationships with the Directors and other employees.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Experience in comparable role.
• CPP (Certificate Personnel Practice) qualified or equivalent.
• Education to GCSE grade C, “O” Level or equivalent in at least five subjects, including maths and English. (Level 4 or above under new GCSE grading system)
• Good working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel would be advantageous.
