Description: Head of Learning & Talent Development

Polar Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious international training and support services market leader for a Head of Learning & Talent Development to lead and deliver cross-sector learning and talent development strategies to meet business and HR strategic requirements.

The Head of Learning & Talent Development will build relationships and strategic partnerships with various stakeholders including Directors, senior business leaders and HR Business Partners to gain buy-in, whilst ensuring current innovations and industry benchmarking are considered, to drive the learning and talent strategy to support business growth plans and deliver employee attraction, engagement and retention through a positive employee experience.



Responsibilities:

* Embed divisional HR strategy through the deployment of a learning and development framework that supports business growth and delivers positive employee engagement through a standardised approach to learning and talent development.
* Define, deploy and drive an employee engagement programme to meet the requirements of all business units.
* Drive employee development programmes focussed on “soft skills” - management and leadership etc. - in accordance with business and HR strategic requirements.
* Deploy and manage a framework to identify, develop, attract, engage, deploy and retain key talent within the business.
* Deploy a divisional approach to performance management and succession planning in support of effective career management.
* Identify and implement a management and leadership coaching and mentoring methodology to support employee, management and leadership development within the business.
* Oversee delivery of L&D enabling capability - e.g. Learning Management Systems etc.
* Devise and deploy methodology to measure the value of learning and development activity
* Drive “future talent” agenda, through the management and delivery of graduate and apprentice recruitment and development programmes



Essential Skills & Experience

* Previous experience in a similar Head of Learning & Talent Development role, within a large, complex organisation.
* Member or Fellow CIPD qualified (MCIPD or FCIPD).
* Proven track record developing and implementing learning and talent development frameworks.
* Experience translating complex business requirements into learning and talent development needs.
* Extensive experience working at strategic level.
* Demonstrable track record of delivering successful employee engagement programmes.
* Knowledge of current learning and development and talent management techniques, methodologies and solutions.
* Understanding of the delivery of graduate and apprentice recruitment and development programmes.
* Line management experience.
* Full clean driving licence and willing to travel to other UK offices/sites as required.
