Job Title: Infrastructure Support / Field Engineer
Location:City of London
Rate:£35K to £40K Per Year    Benefits: Pension
Description: We are looking for an experienced desktop & network engineer who is capable of providing both a remote support and on-site support/installation.

Although mostly home-based you will spend time at client sites, mostly in and around London.

The role will include the need to identify and prioritize each job together with the ability to troubleshoot using detailed technical procedures.

Applicants will be expected to be smart and presentable with good written, verbal and face to face communication skills.

Standard work hours are between 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday and there will also be some weekend and out of hours work.

Essential knowledge:
• Strong knowledge of Windows client operating systems (7/8/10).
• Windows PC based applications (MS Office suite etc.) deployment and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of MacOS, Apple Mac desktops, laptops and server
• Good knowledge of Windows server operating systems (2003, 2008, 2011, 2012 & SBS Variants).
• Mail configuration including POP, IMAP, SMTP.
• Exchange 2003-2010 working knowledge & varying Office 365 configurations.
• Active Directory & Group Policy.
• Backup and restoration of data within Windows infrastructures.
• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of Networking, ideally CCNP level (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, NAT, CAT 5 patching etc.).
• Good knowledge of Security (VPNs, Firewalls, Threats and Protective measures)
• DHCP & DNS service & maintenance.
Desirable knowledge:
• Unix/Linux
• Knowledge and experience of MS Office 365 migration
• Knowledge of Cisco / Juniper /SonicWALL / Fortinet network Devices.
• Knowledge of Virtual platforms Hyper-V, VMWare, EXSI.
• HP / DELL Servers.
• SQL.
• Storage Solutions including NAS/SAN/DAS.
• Knowledge of IP Telephony will be highly beneficial.

The successful candidate will have:
• At least 3 years of experience in a hands on role supporting in a busy, fast paced environment.
• Good communication skills are essential – both written and verbal – as there will be daily communication with Clients.
• Reliability and timekeeping are important.
• The ability to think outside of the box.
