Job Title: Assistant Production Manager (Chemical)
Location:Deeside
Rate:£32,260 to £37,260 Per Year
Description: Our manufacturing client of ours, based in the Deeside area, are looking for an Assistant Production Manager with chemical experience.

Role: To assist the Plant Manager in the management of the chemical production areas.

This is a permanent role on days (9-5) paying between 32,260*-37,260* per annum, potentially more for the right level of experience. *includes annual callout payment of 2260 per annum.

There is also a callout system which is split between 3 managers but out of hours calls are rare and usually rectified over the telephone.

Responsibilities:

Main areas of responsibility will be centred around troubleshooting, checking orders before dispatch, liaising with sales, production planning and other administration duties.

Chemical experience is essential and an NVQ Level 3/HND or chemical degree would be preferable.

Other more specific responsibilities include:

• Financial: Operate the plants at the maximum obtainable yield.
• Maximise steam production from the exit gas boiler and the TO plant.

Minimise process losses including but not limited to:

• Cooling water
• Waste
• Downtime

Operational:

• Controlling plant production rates to meet sales demand forecasts while maintaining minimum agreed stock levels.
• Controlling process raw materials & packaging requirements.
• Regular review of plant operating conditions and adjustment of process variables when necessary.
• Maintenance of plant records for inspection & review.
• Review of current process technology and recommendations for cost effective improvements.
• Duty Manager rota cover.

Personnel:

• Provision of selection criteria for positions directly under your control
• Provision of responsibilities for positions directly under your control.
• Regular review of your workforce and identification and implementation of any training needs identified.
• Maintenance of personnel training records
• Maintain manning at agreed levels.

QC:

• Investigate non conformities and implement any improvements identified to prevent re-occurrences.
• Annually review all QC procedures relating to your areas of responsibility.
• S, H & E Operation of all relevant processes within the boundaries of the IPPC permit.
• Prevention of identified major accident hazards by the following control measures:
Controlling activities within your area of responsibility by the provision of information in the form of:
• Standard Operating Procedures
• Method Statements for activities not covered by SOP’s.
• Risk Assessments.
• COSSH Assessments.
• Permit to work.
• Making the plant available for scheduled & non-scheduled maintenance.
• Issuing of PPE, training in the correct use and maintenance of PPE records.
