Job Title: System Installation Engineer - Off Shore
Rate:£ Per Day
Description: Modis are currently recruiting for a System Installation Engineer to be based in Basildon, Essex however would be required to spend time off shore in the Middle East and Far East working on an important Oil & Gas project.
The initial four to six weeks would be spent in training with the client in Essex with then a two month deployment overseas off shore. This would continue to happen until the project is complete.
The successful candidate(s) should have experience installing surveillance equipment including sensor systems, electro-optic or radar products.

Rate: Open
Location: Essex & Middle East / Far East
Duration: Initial 6 months, though with extensions to cover the lengthy project
Start Date: October 2017
Clearance: Would require to pass the BPSS (baseline) clearance checks

Off-shore and On-shore surveys of Oil and Gas facilities in preparation for surveillance equipment fit. Supervising and supporting Electro-Optic and Radar equipment installation and commissioning.

Candidate requirements:
As well as being motivated, pro-active and capable of working independently or in a small team, the successful applicant must meet the following mandatory requirements:
• Successful experience with pre-installation site surveying (data validation and change recommendations).
• Successful experience with equipment installations.
• Ability to work in accordance to the highly regulated Oil and Gas industry
o Must pass appropriate medicals for off-shore work prior to employment.
• Previous experience with one or more of Electro-Optics, Radar or networked systems.
• Electrical qualification (minimum HND or equivalent).
• Understands how to read and update engineering drawings
• Experience of field trouble-shooting and repair.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication and presentation skills, producing work of accurate and presentable quality in the defined formats.
• Prepared to work extended periods off-shore
• Work with, and maintain relationships, with clients, suppliers and third party contractors in a multi-cultural environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team towards achieving shared objectives.
• Capable of working to tight deadlines and prioritise workload to meet deadlines in a professional manner.
• Adaptable and Flexible to accommodate operational requirements.
• Capable of using own initiative and working at times unsupervised.

It is desirable for the candidate to also meet the following requirements:
• Experienced (5+ years) in Oil and Gas.
• Successful experience with Off-shore pre-installation surveying (data validation and change recommendations) with a good understanding of offshore operations.
• Successful experience with Off-shore equipment installations.
• Experience with leading a survey, including monitoring and reporting progress status.
• Valid codes of practice, medicals, certifications (see over), including current Offshore Survival and Medical.
• Previous experience with Electro-Optics
• Previous experience with Radar
• Previous experience with networked systems
• RF Installation Techniques.
• Experience, and comfortable, with working at height.
• Familiar with the use of surveying equipment such as: optical surveying equipment, RF Spectrum Analysers, basic space envelope assessment, cable routing, photography, assessing existing electrical capacity (breakers, UPS, bus-bars).
