My client who is one of the UK's leading Facility Management companies requires an experienced Technical supervisor to direct a team of mobile operatives to cover sites across London. (Company car/Car allowance provided).

We are looking for someone to manage the execution of all technical facility management tasks by ensuring that the sites within area of operation are maintained to required standards in order to support the site production departments.

To carry out the role of Principal Contractor under CDM providing first level supervision and management of both internal and external operations, according to responsibility matrix and competence level

To provide and oversee the day to day functions of both reactive/ remedial activities and quoted work within area of operation/ control

This position will have operational, safety and financial ownership of all activities under area of responsibility, ensuring key performance targets are maintained and establishing and maintaining key business relationships across the client estate

Actively promote Health and Safety in the work place by setting a good example to others by ensuring compliance with the health and safety responsibilities set out in the Health and Safety Manual, including regular site audits

Accountable for planning, scheduling, prioritising and assigning all relelvant Work Orders to meet all SLA/ KPI’s

Provide supervision of mobile operatives, to include effective hiring, training, development, holiday, absence and performance management in accordance with HR policies

Carry out safety inductions and supervision of 3rd party supplier activities, when required and reporting of any corrective works arising

Responsible for maintaining and reviewing stock levels for consumables and spare/ replacement parts

Ensure Method Statement & Risk assessments are available and reviewed for all work activity to ensure safe systems of work are adhered to at all times

Carry out Workplace Inspections with operatives and contractors to ensure Workspaces are maintained and kept in a safe condition at all times and assess quality of work

Responsible for completing relevant Team Talks & Safety Observations, in line with monthly QHSE reporting requirements

Report/ escalate accordingly all out of line situations

Support Out of Hours Emergency call out team following call-out rota schedule

Decide about requirements and optimal use of resources and manpower within given time limits

Analyze work done, compare with targets and discuss improvements with the jobholder involved

Ensure that appropriate site inductions are carried out and recorded

Review and monitor Contractors Method Statements and risk assessments and ensure that they are adhered to

Ensure that adequate staffing levels are continually maintained

Assist with the recording and valuation of works within responsibility range

Ensuring customer procedures are adhered to and the necessary information is provided

Person Specification:
Experience of leading a team to provide direction and decision making

Able to plan, organise and delegate activities to his/her team

Applicants should be IT literate

Supervisory experience possessing good communication skills (both written and verbal).

Essential Relevant experience of working in a multi task team environment.

Able to work on own initiative

High level of interpersonal and customer relationship skills

Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities

Influencing skills

Good, all round knowledge of skilled discipline (i.e. Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or Fabric Engineering) - degree/ formal qualification would be beneficial

Be commercially aware

Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, suppliers and customers at all levels.
