An exciting opportunity has arisen within their Assets and Growth team for a Building Surveyor to undertake a comprehensive range and of surveying and technical support activities.

THE ROLE

* Compile / update stock condition information
* Undertake property surveys to identify defects / failures in properties
* Undertake the role of contract administrator for the delivery of projects with knowledge/understanding of relevant forms of building contract
* Support the repairs team with technical advice and surveys as required
* Undertake the role of party wall surveyor as required
* Ensure works are delivered in line with statutory consents (Building regulations, Planning, CDM etc.)
* Undertake Fire Risk Assessments for all properties and ensure risk is mitigated with regard Fire Risk
* Work with Asset Manager to undertake EPC's
* Manage legal disrepair cases
* Undertake asbestos surveys and ensure accurate information is up loaded to the asset database
* Ensure best commercial and social value are delivered from projects
* Develop relationship with planned and reactive maintenance teams to ensure a coordinated asset management, including Handyman and MOT programmes
* Identify options that will provide social value for tenants by improved asset management (reduced fuel costs, energy efficiency, renewable energy options)
* Transfer site based information to the asset system to ensure accurate records regarding the stock are maintained.
* Undertake SAP and energy performance surveys and maintain up to date data.
* Acquisition surveys to mitigate risk on property purchases
* Draft design information including CAD drawings, specifications from feasibility to completion
* Work with commercial team to establish scheme cost plans

Fixed term contract until 31 March 2018

Applicants must have extensive experience of working within a surveying team and be suitably qualified. In addition you will be well organised, flexible and possess a full driving licence.

* Appropriate academic qualification/professional qualification
* Excellent verbal and written ability, strong presentation and interpersonal skills
* Extensive experience of operating within a surveying team
* Management of stakeholders (customers, consultants etc.)
* Up to date knowledge of appropriate legislation
* Highly numerate and IT literate and able to promote this ethos throughout the team
* Able to assess risk associated with asset decisions
* Fixed term contract until 31 March 2018
