Job Title: Servicenow Consultant - Permanent
Location:City of London
Rate:£45K to £75K Per Year
Description: ServiceNow Consultant - London - Permanent - up to 75k + excellent package and bonus

POSITION SUMMARY

Design, configure and implement ServiceNow based applications to support business processes that meet business requirements
Review and clarify requirements with Business Analysts and/or end-users, team leaders & managers
Follow agreed coding standards, implementation plans and timelines to deliver required functionality
Contribute to technical designs and implementation plans in conjunction with other team members
Implement agreed designs
Create interfaces to work with other internal and external systems using Web services and other technologies
Work effectively and constructively as part of the ServiceNow team and other virtual teams as needed
Provide technical input on the capabilities of the ServiceNow platform and insights on the preferred/best practice way to implement solutions and appropriate trade-offs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyse, design and develop ServiceNow functionality in line with ServiceNow and other best practices
Implement a range of solutions based on the ServiceNow platform including, but not limited to:
JavaScript development
Application UI Configuration using style sheets
Extend existing classes/tables or create new ones if required
Create integrations with other OSS/BSS systems using Web-services, import tables etc.
Workflow development
CI class creation and/or modification of existing classes and relationships
Service Catalogue customisation
Use of automation to populate CMDB
Investigate and implement additional ServiceNow applications and plug-ins
Support and improve the existing ServiceNow applications and processes:
Configuration Management of the ServiceNow production environments, perform movement of new functionality between development, test and production instances during maintenance windows
Use of group defect, enhancement and change management tools

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL:
Experience of developing or customising software using scripting or any compiled languages) either professionally or for fun. Languages of interest include JavaScript, PERL, PHP, Unix shell - sh, bash, .NET, C, C++, Java
Must be someone who is intellectually curious and gets gratification from building useful applications
Must be technically savvy and able to design and build applications that meet business goals and objectives
Must be a self-starter and keen to explore new solutions
Committed to focusing on getting the most out of the ServiceNow investment
Good verbal and written communications skills
Team Player
Flexibility to work with a variety of personalities and styles
Adaptable to work in a varied, high-paced exciting, fun environment

DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience of using an ITSM application for Incident or defect tracking to support internal or external customers. Preferably ServiceNow in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) ITIL V3 environment
ServiceNow certifications
Use / Implementation of other ServiceNow modules such as Asset Management, Project, Employee Self Service, Discovery, MID Servers etc.
ITIL , ITSCM and IT Service Management
Knowledge and understanding of IP Networking Technologies
Experience of IT operational practices
Use of SOAP/REST Web services
UI customisation
JavaScript programming including use of Glide
MYSQL and other relational DB
UML
