The UK’s leading contractor within hybrid structures requires a Contracts Manager on a permanent basis.

As a specialist sub-contractor they offer a full turnkey solution to clients whilst also providing a variety of sustainable material options that include timber, steel, glulam, CLT and SiPs. As such this Contract Manager will ideally come from a Structural Steel / Timber frame background.

This role will be office based 2-3 days a week in the Derbyshire area and to ensure that you are delivering and controlling projects to the highest standards you will be expected to be meeting with clients and site base 2 days a week. These sites are UK based (60% in London) so travel and overnight stays may be required.

This is an amazing opportunity to work for a specialist sub-contractor that are highly influential in the industry and their MD sits on the boards of some major construction related associations.

As the Contracts Manager you will have the opportunity to work on some marquee projects throughout the UK. However, the specialist frame contractor’s core business lies in education, retail / supermarkets, leisure and corporate headquarters.

As a quality focussed and customer driver Contracts Manager some of your core duties will include;

• Acting as the key point of contact between the client and the company on any and all contractual matters. This would include; account variations, site management, coordinating meetings and design matters.
• Liaising with the commercial team.
• Maintaining high levels of contract files and project information in a timely and orderly manner.
• Assessing the performance of sub-contractors
• Overseeing site performances, through the management of the Site Manager
• Holding regular review meetings with all key stake holders.
• Preparing project method statements

In essence you will be involved in the project from start to finish; this will include the design phase, manufacturing, logistics and site delivery.

To be considered for this role, this sub contract steel framed specialist requires applicants who:

• Will be an experienced Contracts / Projects Manager who will have a background in structural steel, CLT, glulam, or timber.
• Has had experience of running multi million pound commercial and industrial projects, with values up to 7 million.
• Experience in using project planning software
• Experience of managing and overseeing multiple projects across the UK
• Either professionally qualified ie: Degree / NVQ or qualified by experience
• Experience of working for a specialist sub-contractor within the construction sector
• Experience of dealing with and working with Tier 1 contractors
• SMSTS, 1st aid and ideally CSCS Black Card and IOSH
• A willingness to stay away from home as 60% of the projects are London based.
