Job Title: Buyer/Junior Buyer
Location:Norwich
Rate:£20K to £40K Per Year
Description: An excellent opportunity for a experienced Buyer/Junior Buyer for this leading retailer based in their amazing Norwich office space.

The role is to source, develop and deliver a range of exciting, commercial, high-quality, great value products which satisfies the company product strategy & financial KPIs

Responsibilities
•Work closely with the merchandising team to analyse seasonal sales performance, profitability, consumer buying patterns, market trends and competitor activity to identify areas of opportunity and risk
•Carry out regular directional shops in key cities to inspire future range development
•Attend UK and international trade fairs to source new suppliers & product
•Work closely with the merchandising team to compile & present seasonal product strategy, sourcing strategy, pricing strategy and financial KPI’s to senior management
•Work closely with the merchandising team to plan commercial and exciting ranges which meet the agreed strategy and deliver the agreed financial KPI’s, and sign-off with senior management team
•Work closely with the technical manager on all new product development designs and specifications
•Work closely with all suppliers & factories to develop and deliver new product development
•Set up and manage critical paths for each product
•Negotiate prices with suppliers to ensure intake margin targets are met/exceeded
•Establish and develop close working relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure objectives are met
•Work closely with marketing team to identify opportunities to communicate new product developments and ensure all product information used is accurate
•Keep up-to-date with market trends and changes in demand
•Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant departments

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• A minimum of 3 years in a retail buying environment
• Good knowledge of sourcing and product development best practice gained from other major UK retailer/s
• Good knowledge and experience of the UK furniture and homeware markets
• Proven track record of successfully implementing product strategy and achieving financial targets
