Job Title: Client Finance Platforms Expert Associate
Rate:£ Per Year    Benefits: Competitive
Description: Summary

The main purpose of this role will be the daily responsibility is the reconciliation of the Platform accounts.

Main Responsibilities

This role will be varied and interesting including:-

Cash Reconciliations

This will involve daily reviewing the general ledger postings and statement entries across all the bank accounts, if discrepancies are identified this will be investigated until the corrective resolution has been found.

Performing FCA regulated Client Money calculations and monitoring the Client Money accounts for incoming electronic Receipts.

Asset reconciliations

This will involve the oversight of an Integrity Check of over internal system and also the completion of the External reconciliation between the Platform’s records against what is held with the Asset Provider, these reconciliations are completed by an Offshore resource.

If discrepancies are highlighted as part of this process, these should be managed and investigated until the corrective resolution has been found.

If breaches occur ensure these are raised within the correct Service Level Agreements (SLA) and provide suitable preventive actions when required.

Keep up to date with regulatory change around Client Money within Platforms.


Project Input

* Have an understanding of area related development documents and have input to these as required.
* Have an understanding of changes relating to standing data and defects and ensure implemented smoothly for Finance Platforms related processes if required.
* Assist in the implementation of new and revised business processes necessary to support the relevant changes resulting from system development or new business.
* Input to change control process within Finance Platforms.
* Support live issue resolution for all Finance Platform related matters.
* Understand changes of projects which are due to be implemented to Finance Platforms which related processes Client Money processes, not only for the Reconciliations team but also have an awareness of how these impact other areas.

Procedures & Training

* Provide input into creation of Team procedures for systems and processes and ensure these are reviewed and updated in a timely manner when required.
* Attend training courses as appropriate.

Process Responsibilities:
* Ensure all Cash and Asset accounts are reconciled to enable a Client Money calculation can be completed. Arrange any necessary funding and journals to ensure the account(s) are corrected within 24 hours of identification to adhere to the FCA regulations.
* When breaches are identified ensure these are raised within 24 hours of realisation.
* Analyse and resolve all outstanding items. Report investigation/action required for those items either by team, relevant departments, bank and Funds Mangers. Where appropriate and chase to completion to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Escalate issues or potential breaches to Line Manager, to enable consideration for Client Money implications.
* Develop & Improve Client Relations – To work closely with Client Relationship teams and all relevant areas withinIFDS, to deliver and aim to exceed client and investor expectations.

Additional responsibilities

Complete any other appropriate ad hoc tasks as directed by Line Manager and deputise for a Manager if required.

Be able to explain current and new Client Finance processes relevant to the role to both Internal and External parties at all levels of hierarchy.

Ensure cross training given and received from other members of Finance Platform Dept and other relevant personnel to expand breadth of knowledge across the IFDS Platform business.

Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:-


* Good understanding of Finance processes.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Good keyboard skills to include awareness of MS Office packages.
* Good Verbal reasoning and numeric skills.
* Knowledge of both Cash and Asset ReconciliationsKnowledge of FCA regulatory environment including full understanding of Client Money Regulations
* Ability to work effectively within a team or on own.
* Good Communications skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative, multi task and meet tight deadlines.
* Demonstrate an understanding of responsibilities within the Financial Services Industry


* CISI/IOC Introduction to Securities and Investment qualification or Commitment to study towards this qualification
* Knowledge of Frontier Reconciliation System
* Demonstrate an understanding of responsibilities within the Financial Services Industry
* Knowledge of Pensions, Bonds, ISA, administration
* Organised and methodical approach to planning and the completion of tasks.
* Able to clearly document processes and procedures, and how these can be tested when changes affect them.
