An interesting opportunity has become available for an experienced CCNP / CCIP level customer facing Network Engineer to join a leading international telecommunications service provider to take dedicated ownership and ongoing support and management of a key customer solution.

The Network Engineer will be involved with everything from complex change requests, design updates and modifications, lab testing, implementation of solutions, high level support and troubleshooting, attending customer meetings and for the ensuring the network solution documentation is up to date.

Working for this highly successful global carrier as part of the customer design authority project team, this Network Engineer role is offered on a permanent basis with a basic salary of up to 40,000 per annum plus 10% bonus plus a corporate benefits package. The position will be based in West Drayton, Middlesex.

As the Customer Design Authority, you will:

# Carry out lab testing of new solution design concepts to ensure quality and control
# Provide technical guidance to the Account Management team with new proposals
# Approve all change and new design requests proposed
# Update detailed design documentation as required
# Collaborate with implementation, assurance, NOC, sales and account management teams
# Support TDAs with technical implementation as required
# Attend customer review and requirements gathering meetings
# Investigate high level technical fault issues alongside the technical support / NOC teams
# Offer advice to assurance teams, assist them with troubleshooting and ensure that they have the correct level of technical support documentation

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working for a telecoms operator, service provider, ISP or carrier, as a network engineer, implementation or design engineer.

You should have good QoS knowledge including classification, congestion management and avoidance, policing and shaping, link efficiency mechanisms experience etc.

Candidates should have CCNA, CCNP, CCIP routing and switching level experience with knowledge of IP protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP etc.

Candidates should have good WAN / LAN experience with MPLS, IP VPN, VLAN, Ethernet, IPSec, RAS technologies etc.

Any IPT, Telephony, VoIP (CallManager and call manager express, Unity) experience is highly desirable.

Candidates should be good communicators and have the ability to work to tight deadlines. You should be able to demonstrate a sound level of understanding across a broad range of technical subjects and be able to apply this knowledge to customer’s specific requirements.
