Job Title: Automation Engineer

Rate:£400 Per Year
Description: We are currently working with a leading renewable energy client who specialise in the design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of turbines for marine renewable energy projects.

The role of the Automation Engineer is to help support the development of a control strategy to further develop their award winning technology. This includes working on the existing software design and evolving it to a future design based on experience, customer demand, product enhancements and test project analysis.

It is an opportunity to get involved with innovative technology and play a pivotal role in the redesign & development of a product looking to be released on a commercial scale by Q3 of 2018.

Principal Responsibilities [1]

The Automation Engineer will work in a small team environment to ensure that a lifecycle approach is taken to the future software development. Key focus areas will be:

- Assist with the development of functional design specification template(s).
- Assist with capturing the As-Is configuration of installed base into functional specifications.
- PLC software development.
- Risk based testing.
- Be a good communicator.
- Work with the team of automation engineers to ensure timely, quality, software delivery.

Qualifications [2]

Essential

- 3-5 years` experience in an automation role.
- Degree qualified.
- Experience with automation systems - key focus on PLC software development.
