Job Title: 2nd Line Support Engineer
Rate:£23K to £25,500 Per Year

> My global client is looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join their current team and provide on site technical support for 2nd Line issues.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide second line support, responding to Service Desk referrals of end-user requests. Support covers hardware & software for Windows Server, PC, network communications, peripherals and production equipment.
* Prioritise problems based on severity and urgency and track all outstanding incidents until successful resolution or re-allocation.
* Work closely with 3rd line support and all other IT teams, to successful resolution of tickets.
* Work with end-users to identify problems or issues, provide solutions and resolve to customer’s satisfaction.
* Participate in the planning, installation, implementation, testing, and support of new solutions.
* Perform routine tasks for system maintenance, including backups, system checks, AV logs.
* Relocate equipment in line with operational requirements, refurbishments, and relocations.
* Track all assets during moves, installs, upgrades, disposals.
* Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
* Adhere to embedded ITIL processes.


* Minimum of 2 years experience in a Technical Support role
* Strong knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7 & Windows 2003 Server and above operating systems
* Experience & Understanding of Active Directory, DNS & DHCP
* Ability to diagnose complex platform problems and develop appropriate solutions
* Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and analytical skills
* Ability to maintain a calming, helpful and sympathetic approach to our Customers
* A full driving license is a necessity for frequent travelling between sites
