Job Title: Storesman
Location:Lincoln
Rate:£21K.00 to £23K.00 Per Year    Benefits: 33 days holiday
Description: Due to expansion my client is looking to recruit a stores person to join the team in central Lincoln.



Responsibilities of the position

* Management of Tools & Supplies Storerooms
* Complying with all approved sourcing processes and policies
* Ensure improved processes for these functions support the company initiatives in cost, quality, delivery and working capital



Main Role – Tools & Supplies

* Receive deliveries
* Verify correct goods and quantity received as per delivery note and Purchase Order
* Carry out goods receiving transaction
* Put stock away
* Issue goods to departments within procedural guidelines
* Carry out issuing transactions
* Consignment Stock
* Ensure all transactions are accurate and timely
* Keeps internal customers informed of supplier delivery and business issues as known through day to day contact with suppliers
* Establish and implement a plan to improve general storage and handling of stock items
* Check stock level at diesel tank and inform Purchasing when stock requires replenishment
* Cylinder Gas

* Carry out joint Supplier stock counts
* Work with supplier to replenish stock

* Check stock levels
* Liaise with suppliers to replenish stock and collect empty cylinders



Role – Waste Management

* Principal key holder of Waste Management Compound
* Operation of General Waste Compactor
* Liaise with Waste Management Suppliers to ensure timely and effective collection and delivery of site wide skips
* Co-ordinate all aspects of skip ordering, filling and removal including management of the weigh-bridge



Role – General Purchasing

* Identify areas for cost savings to ensure we are driving the total lowest cost
* Support project management of supplier/product changes
* Support supplier quality and delivery issues
* Support continuous improvement activities and best practices across the tactical teams to achieve daily efficiency improvements and achieving metrics
* Maintain working relationships with directors, senior management and internal staff on supply chain issues
* Fulfill any other roles appropriate to the current and future needs of the department as defined by the Maintenance Manager

Knowledge and Experience



* Experience of working within a similar stores manufacturing environment.
* A good level of information technology literacy is essential to enable reports and other documentation to be produced.
* Will need to show evidence of the ability to:
* Fork Lift Truck License is required
* Must understand problems and recognise areas for improvement

* Provide good customer service;
* Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
* Manage projects;
* Use a PC



Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm
