Job Title: Operations Director - Global Data Centre
Location:London
Rate:£105K to £120K Per Year    Benefits: Bonus, Car, Travel, Benefits
Description: This role is working with one of the world's leading global Data Centre and Colocation clients.

This position serves as part of the Technical Services Department core team, with management responsibility for the 24 hour day to day operations of the Technical Service Department.

The role is also responsible for:

Ensuring the provision of high level services for IT Operations, Cabling and Installations Facilities, Buildings Management and Site Security.

Provision of a high level of service to external and internal customers to support the Company’s profitable growth and customer satisfaction.

Overseeing the performance of various units, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement of services to enable contribution to the success of the entire business.

Partnering with other departments and business stakeholders through provision of a comprehensive range of operational services, ensuring adherence to Company operations guidelines, processes, standards, methodologies and frameworks.

Liaising with the Technical Director in the development of an Operational Services plan based on the Company’s strategic business plan and ensure its ongoing accuracy for inclusion in the overall Technical Services Department planning.

On a corporate level, in association with other senior staff members, this position will actively contribute towards the corporate development of Telehouse.


Responsible for the strategic development of the Operations Department and to ensure the provision of high level services and support.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following essential job functions:

• Provide the strategic development plan of the Service including business objectives, timetable and budgets.
• Oversee and optimise OPEX within budgets.
• Provide requests of the Service budget, based on the business development and essential works requirements.
• To be accountable for the costs of the Service incurred within and outside approved budgets.
• Co-operate with the Procurement Department to ensure the best buy for the company (optimize the cost and obtain high-quality service from external vendors)
• Ensure sub-Contract contracts are undertaken, ensuring they achieve their contracted objectives and deliverables, and the Company is protected, both legally and financially. The latter to be achieved in collaboration with the General Affairs function.
• Ensure customer contractual service levels are provided in a professional manner, maintaining communication with the Sales & Marketing Department.
• Liaise with all departments in respect of planned change requirements to ensure consistent and complete understanding. To provide information to all departments in a clear and timely manner.
• Conduct audits of the Service to verify continuous quality and innovation.
• Report performance and quality of the Service, status of budget consumption on a regular basis and any incident in a timely manner.
• Assist in the implementation of ISO and any other compliance related matters identified by the Company.
• Attract, develop, motivate and retain talent .
• Provide effective leadership to enable team members to achieve their objectives and to act in a collaborative manner with all departments
• Ensure the on-going performance of team members through recruitment, training, engagement, performance management and coaching.
• Liaise with the relevant operating teams to:
• ensure the provision of best in class customer service in all areas
• ensure the safe and reliable operation of all facilities at all times,
• develop the necessary resource planning for all Service departments
• Collaborate with the Compliance department to assure all facilities meet the necessary statutory regulations.
• Liaise with Service Department Managers and the Procurement department to ensure best value service delivery
• Liaise with the Service Department Managers and the BPO department to ensure best in class business system delivery (e.g. Salesforce)
• Provide all necessary reporting to the Managing Director
• Utilise the mind-set, insight and discipline to operate firstly in the interests of the organization as a whole
• Collaborate and work well together with key stakeholders including the Executive team and Board members across European business units.


Essential Experience
• At least 15 years experience in a technical service environment, 5 of which in a senior role.
• At least 10 years experience in the data centre operations environment
• Educated to degree or equivalent standard
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent with membership of a recognised professional body eg IET, CIBSE,IFM
• Can handle complex tasks, demonstrating skills in leading:
