Description: Application Support Analyst

Purpose of Role: A fully proficient and experienced member of the Technology Support team. The purpose of this role is to provide technical and functional support of the Digital systems and services with minimal supervision.
From time to time, this individual may be required to undertake assignments not directly covered by this role profile as the needs of the business demand, as part of their personal development plan or to enhance the departmental capability.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
•With minimal supervision, undertake support activities efficiently, in line with agreed SLA’s and according to industry best practice on Incident and Problem management.
•Manage incident and service requests raised via the Helpdesk through to resolution, including analysis and fault diagnosis.
•Undertake ownership of assigned incidents/service requests and defects through to resolution.
•Identify and assess potential solutions for both technical and business suitability.
•Accurately estimate duration and effort required to complete tasks.
•Work in coordination with other support areas including business analysts, QA and development to ensure the progression of defects within a timely manner.
•On-call for priority 1 Incidents raised out of hours.
•Demonstrate a proactive approach in helping to mitigate risks and improve quality.
•Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure issues and potential enhancements are captured and prioritised.
•Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers.
•Regularly create and maintain systems documentation for service(s) and application(s), for example run books, operational documentation, user guides and training documentation as required.
•Provide training to team members and users as per business requirements.
•Support the Service Transition of releases into Business As Usual according to ITIL best practice on Release and Change management.
•Provide progress reports to key stakeholders and assist in providing the information required for monthly management reporting.
•Ensure that the Digital Support Manager and/or Digital Service Delivery Manager are kept informed of progress, issues and difficulties in an efficient manner.
