Job Title: Multi-Physics Design Engineer (Semiconductor Resea
Location:Lincoln
Rate:£34K to £36K Per Year
Description: The purpose of the role is to work on design, analysis and optimisation of low/high frequency EM distribution, thermal, mechanical and mutual coupling problems of multi-chip, multi-substrate of high voltage, high current power modules.

Responsibilities:
carry out multi-physics design, analysis and optimisation of new products
setup power electronics module packaging simulation and design platform
design, analysis and optimisation of low/high frequency EM distribution, thermal, mechanical and mutual coupling problems of multi-chip, multi-substrate of high voltage, high current power modules
key components design, analysis, optimisation via simulation software and test equipment by considering EM, thermal, mechanical aspects of module operation. The components mainly include high isolation ceramic substrate, power terminal busbars, baseplate, et al
working on simulation software and test platform
working with power assembly team to analyse and optimise power system EM, thermal/mechanical challenges
designing of different EM/thermal/mechanical in detail and dealing with the problems which may be met in the designing processes

Required Experience:
Field of expertise within semiconductor module packaging ideally, or power electronics generally
Experience in using EM / thermal / mechanical simulation software packages, ideally ANSYS / CST or Maxwell / HFSS / Cosmol
PhD or Masters degree + 2 years research experience within a related subject matter
Experience on multi-physics simulation, such as EM-mechanical, thermal-mechanical, thermal-CFD and others
Ideally some experience of 3D CAD design tools and 3D structure design
