Job Description
A new opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst within an established BI and analytics Services function, reporting into the Group Head of Analytics. The Senior Data Analyst will form part of a small team responsible for ensuring that data integrity is as high as possible through maintenance and interrogation of Regus’s data warehouse. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Senior Management Team to develop and provide timely, accurate and value adding analyses to the business as well as taking a key role in the delivery of major projects with a heavy data reliance.

A. Providing data solutions and analyses for new projects.
* Be the data guru for the projects that you work on and therefore will have to provide data solutions in a timely manner
* Understand the business problem, process, figure out where the data exists and collate to do the analyses
* Example Problem: “We have launched a new App. Can you please segment the revenue generated from our App based on customer type”

B. Providing detailed analysis on variances in KPIs and metrics, and provide regular reports on them
* Understand the data held within the data warehouse and the operational process associated with it.
* Have the required SQL and Qlikview skills to understand data structures and extract data
* Know the KPI’s within the standard reports and be able to explain them to the business.
* Example Problem: “Volume increased by 3% and price has not moved so why is our revenue report showing 5% decrease in revenue this month compared to last month?”

C. Supporting Business Intelligence team in development and testing of dashboards.
* Understand the business process and data flows
* Example Problem: “We have introduced a new dashboard on revenue leakage. Can you test the numbers for a sample to see if they are correct”

In one sentence - You will gradually become the subject matter expert when it comes to data.

The Candidate
Whilst candidates will be assessed individually, the following are key selection criteria:
1. Impressive academic credentials – at least a 2i degree, from an established university, in a numerate, scientific or business discipline
2. Achieved commercial success in an environment such as external or internal consultancy, or a relevant operational area
3. An analytical experience base, enabling a natural inclination to problem solve from a numerate start point. This could be represented by an Operational Research or similar background, proven experience in the field of data analytics.
4. Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
5. Self-starter with the ability to assimilate new, complicated concepts quickly.
6. Critical thinker, must be able to think through the problems and come to new conclusions based on the findings.
7. Attention to detail, must be vigilant in their analysis to come to correct conclusions.
8. Experience of and ability to undertake projects from initial inception through to completion with minimum supervision.
9. Sound knowledge/experience of relevant IT tools, especially SQL Excel, Access & VBA or other coding capability would be useful.
