Based: Gwynedd

Our client is a specialist designer and manufacturer of Aerospace and Defence systems, products and components, providing strategic and integrated solutions for a range of exciting businesses throughout the UK and abroad.

We are searching for a highly qualified Electronics Engineer to join their team of specialists working on exciting Hybrid electric aircraft programs with global aerospace defence manufacturers. You will be working on high profile and exciting projects, aiming to improve flight safety, improve efficiency of aircraft and ultimately be a major driver behind the proliferation of this technology. Other activities include pyrotechnic products for sub surface maritime applications incorporating electronic hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

* Developing electrical machines (motors and generators) for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft
* Leading the discipline within the business
* Working on high profile programmes already awarded to the business
* Highly skilled in Embedded systems/Analogue design/Digital design/Software/Spice/Electronic testing
* Design for Safety and Reliability having knowledge of power electronics design
* File patents and play a significant part in strategic direction in a dynamic crack team
* Work methodically at pace for formal development programs (for flight)
* A lot of hands on work will be required but it will be highly rewarding
* Supported by a dynamic multi skilled soon to be EASA part 21 factory including electronic and mechanical.

Candidate Essential Skills and Experience:

* First class or 2:1 degree; electrical/electronic/electrical/mechanical/or avionic engineering
* Working in the design of inverters/controllers, rectifiers, power electronics
* Experience in Drafting architectures, undertaking schematic capture, choosing components
* Justifying the design compliance by analysis, calculation, test
* Write Technical reports - Detailed oriented and rigorous
* Experience of work within the Aerospace experience.
* Able to translate and understand difficult engineering concepts
* Good communication skills with ability to positively communicate with colleagues
* Ability to build relationships with Clients verbally and through written communication
* Strong Microsoft Office and wider IT skills
* Enthusiastic and positive manner and excellent time management skills
* Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
