Job Title: Group Data Protection Officer - Dpa / Gdpr
Rate:£80K Per Year    Benefits: Benefits
Description: As Group Data Protection Officer, you will be the main point of contact across the business for Data Protection and Privacy. You will undertake a mixture of policy and compliance related activities, as well as being fully involved in placing privacy and data protection compliance at the centre of our customer journey including advising key clients in a consultancy role. You will provide subject matter expertise on the proper handling of personal information to ensure Group wide privacy practices comply with the UK and EU Data Protection legislation such as DPA and GDPR. You will also enable the effective use of the Company's information and promote data protection awareness by providing training and guidance materials to all staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Expert knowledge and application of compliance with UK and EU Data Protection and Privacy laws in a complex organisation.
Strong knowledge of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Develop and coordinate a risk management and compliance framework for privacy and working with our IT division to ensure the right technology is deployed across our portfolio
Experience of generating policy and procedures for DP compliance.
Provide assurance that personal information across the Group is managed in compliance with current and proposed Data Protection legislation and policies.
Advises and supports business teams in understanding their obligations under data protection legislation to meet user and information management needs.
Able to handle inquires and issues relating to data protection practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten, and related rights.
Perform internal audit and reviews to assess data protection compliance.
Reports risks and data breaches to the Senior Management and where appropriate to the ICO.
Ensure information assets containing personal information are identified, managed and have effective controls in place.
Act as lead contact for all ICO data protection queries and investigations.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Academic achievement to first-degree level or equivalent qualifications or experience
Expertise in global, national and European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
Integrity and high professional ethics
Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
Good understanding and experience of how Data Protection supports business objectives.
Strong stakeholder management skills to understand business requirements including third parties and the supply chain.
Ability to communicate effectively with the highest levels of management and other key stake-holders within the organization
ISEB in Data Protection to Practitioner level. CIPP certification(s) highly desirable.
Experience, capable of conducting data privacy compliance reviews and audits.
