Description:
Newly created role for an experienced hands-on senior test analyst / team leader at this expanding financial services firm (payments services provider). The company is undergoing massive growth and this is a great chance to join the firm as they go from strength-to-strength.
Agile Senior Test Analyst – Overview:
This great opportunity will see you working as part of the development team, responsible for ensuring best-practice processes for testing and QA are implemented and followed throughout the entire software development life-cycle. Over time (the next 6-12mths) you will also be instrumental in growing the department, to add another 1-2 to the team. This is very much a hands-on role; you will be expected to be able to write acceptance criteria, define and execute test scripts, raise, review and prioritise defects.
Agile Senior Test Analyst – The role:
Main duties: being responsible for defining and monitoring processes that ensure delivered code is of a high standard and fit for purpose; involved with defining acceptance criteria in all parts of the SDLC (from requirements gathering onwards) to ensure developed code has the lowest possible defect rate; to identify and be responsible for implementation of appropriate tooling to support the objectives of the Test Team; to take an active role in all aspects of implementing tests, and to be the technical authority within the Test Team; to be responsible for management of the Test Team; to work with the Head of Software Development and Agile Project Manager to agree prioritisation and definition of work in support of the Software Development process; to work with Senior Software Engineers to ensure that quality is included in all parts of the Software Development process; to facilitate members from all business units in performing User Acceptance Testing.
Agile Senior Test Analyst – The person:
Essential skills:
• Experience in a hands-on testing role, working closely with business analysts, product managers and developers to define acceptance test criteria in an AGILE (TDD/BDD), Java and JUnit environment.
• You must have good automation (for UI testing) (e.g. Selenium) and performance testing skills.
• Team Leader experience; leading small test teams (or at least, mentoring junior members). Note this role probably wouldn’t suit someone used to running a team of, say, 10+ testers where a lot of the time spent will be on supervisory and delegation duties – this is a hands-on role.
• You must possess a very collaborative approach to ensuring quality – you will be working with development teams, not against them
Advantageous skills:
• Experience of the latest-generation tools for test automation (e.g. JBehave, Cucumber, etc)
• Worked with web services / SOA
• Experience with transactional systems (invoicing, payment acquisition, telecoms, etc)
• Working with remote testing teams
All-in-all this is a great chance to join a lively and fast-paced company; an organisation that is offering long-term career prospects. The salary will reflect your experience - to £55k +share options +benefits. Services advertised by Dupen Recruitment Services are those of an Agency.
