SERVER ENGINEER SIX MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT
£30,000-£35,000 Per Annum (Pro Rata) We are looking for a Server Engineer to administer and implement Windows 2003 and Linux-based network services in a corporate environment. The role will also be required to provide 2nd tier support for PC users of the network. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Installation and configuration of Windows 2000/2003 and Linux servers at multiple locations •Administration of Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory and associated services in a multi-server, multi-site environment •Administration of Exchange 2003 in a multi-server environment •Ensure back-up and recovery procedures are in place •Setup and administration of Linux based servers, including scripting (bash/perl), networking and routing, firewalling and internet services (FTP, web, mail, etc) •Detailed knowledge of networking and IP routing, VPNs, firewalling •Knowledge of Cisco an advantage •Familiarity with VOIP systems •Provide detailed documentation regarding all aspects of server-related work. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: •Ability to work well within a team •Ability to work efficiently under pressure •Ability to prioritise tasks based on variety of factors •Identify potential issues and resolve in a proactive manner •Good communication and reporting skills •Moderate level of experience in a server support or network administration role.
