Responsibilities
For each client, working as a member of the client service team to provide Corporate Tax Compliance and Advisory services including: - Supervising the work of junior members of staff, principally the preparation of tax computations and tax payment advice plus correspondence with the Inland Revenue - Review of computations, including ensuring adequacy of information requests to clients and liaising with specialists on technical matters. - Dealing with Inland Revenue enquiries and negotiating on contentious points. - Understanding technical matters and presenting them in a comprehensible and practical way. - Liaising with the client service team and with colleagues in the audit and accounting discipline to provide a co-ordinated service to the client - Keeping internal control records up to date and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures - Carrying out tax audits in accordance with terms of reference agreed with the audit team. Advising the audit team of potential tax exposure - Managing the client relationship to provide the service agreed, assessing risks and ensuring quality control. - Taking responsibility for the fees/billing process on clients. · Identifying and exploiting other business development opportunities on clients. - Working with senior management on advisory projects · Discussing new tax ideas with clients - Working with specialists to deliver expertise to the local market The Individual · Social confidence · Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (internally and externally). - Ability to work as a team member - Possessing sound judgment, including the ability to identify risk issues, knowing when to involve more senior staff etc. - Commitment to delivering results - Task management skills (including ability to meet deadlines within the allocated budget) - Attention to detail - Practical approach to problems - Commercial approach and ability to understand and take an interest in clients' businesses. - Ability to manage, coach and delegate to junior staff Trial Balance Consulting – Fresh Thinking Accountancy Recruitment Trial-balance.co.uk is a specialist recruitment consultancy devoted 100% to the recruitment of Accountancy staff in Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.
