Analyst Programmer – C#/C++/VB.Net
Our engineering and design consultancy is seeking an Analyst Programmer to join their Analysis and Modelling Division working on a range of government projects involving: definition of requirements and assumptions, development of computer simulations, analysis and reporting. Personal Characteristics. Candidates will need: •To be degree qualified in a scientific, mathematical or engineering discipline or have equivalent experience. •To be security cleared to SC level prior to appointment. Knowledge and experience of the following is expected: •Previous experience in modelling and programming (this may include a relevant MSc, PhD and/or work experience). •Complete familiarity and confidence in using standard desktop tools (including Microsoft Access and Excel). •Ability to liaise effectively with clients to help define and clarify requirements and collate relevant data/information. •Ability to analyse data/information accurately and design appropriate tailored solutions to problems often involving software development /use. •Programming in either C#,C++ or VB.NET. •Innovative approach to problem solving. •Effective written and oral communication skills. •Flexible approach to work, ability to work alone or as part of a team. Desirable Requirements for the role: •General defence awareness and/or experience of working on defence-related projects. •Knowledge of simulation modelling. •Operational Analysis/Operational Research knowledge or experience. Additional Information Our client develops individuals through a portfolio of training and development courses designed to help successful candidates make the best of their abilities and talents. Some travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to clients offices may also be required. All candidates must be in a position to obtain UK security clearance to SC level (additional restrictions may apply on certain defence programmes).
